At the #StateOpening of Parliament today for the #KingsSpeech, which marks the formal start of the Parly session and sets out the Govt's agenda. This is the first time HM The King has opened Parliament as Sovereign & the first King’s Speech since 1951. Always an awesome occasion.

Yesterday we welcomed Shabana Mahmood MP to Ministry of Justice as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice. A former barrister, she is the second woman and first Muslim in history to hold the position of Lord Chancellor.
