We regret to say that this government has led us on, let us down and reneged on its word to reform licensing laws. As it stands, Fine Gael's big promise of change has been nothing more than 5+ years of talk

A full term to improve the situation and they've embarrassingly done absolutely nothing. Listen to Robbie Kitt elaborate more here. instagram.com/reel/DByjXLiCs… #giveusthenight

Please ask all local politicians you meet this week to commit to publishing the licensing bill in the opening stages of the next DĆ”il. This has gone on too long #ge24 #giveusthenight #publishthebill šŸŽ¶ DART

First ever public reading of Pure Winter was a major highlight of very memorable night with Kevin Barry, Aoife &Steve Being in a packed basement in Catherine St. we were already in main character Joe's backyard, making the resonance more profound. Re-read irishtimes.com/culture/books/…

Thanks Nialler9 for the continual support šŸ™ While our roots are in the dance scene, we hope people will see that these proposals stretch further, and that next Govt will prioritise more cultural/arts space(s) in general as well as licensing etc MicheĆ”l Martin Simon Harris TD

Ongoing licensing uncertainty has led to no new investment in sector. Meanwhile older operators are finally having enough, while others have attempted to open but not lasted long. Govt must act now to give industry any chance going forward #giveusthenight extra.ie/2025/01/14/new…

Our latest figures for Irish nightclubs. 9 counties down to last club. After a relatively stable 2022 into 2023, incl. some re-openings, things took a slide in 2024. Quite a few others teetering on the edge of closure now too. We need reform now! MicheƔl Martin Simon Harris TD

Look at the size of counties like here in Tipp, with only one night club. Whole scene has been abandoned by complete mismanagement by those in charge. Change is needed in our licensing laws ASAP.

Such a loss to the entire country, all its young people, and our tourists. Young people need their places to gather regularly, with music, meet people, and dance. This is leadership failure on multiple levels.

Yes the modernisation of licensing laws that was committed to in 2020 Programme For Government needs to be prioritised by the Govt in 2025. A bill is now ready to be published. Let's go! #giveusthenight

The bill that would allow for later nightclub opening hours in Ireland has been bumped off the priority list by the new government Give Us The Night founder Sunil Sharpe described the decision "disappointing" while encouraging people not to lose hope djmag.com/news/bill-exte…

Charlie has confirmed why so many of us lose faith in politics. Was an ally of nightclubs when in opposition, even proposing a nightclub licence to the DÔil. Proceeds to do nothing when justice minister, then actively tries to rip down licensing bill on his way out of politics
