The snails also like a paddle-ride! These are snails added to our mesocosm experiment for QUANTUM WP4 Ana Castro-Castellon, DPhil Sydney Enns

Final day of sampling today for the University of Bristol team at our @QUANTUMFreshWtr field site, and the Exeter Biosciences team completing their field ecotoxin exposure experiments. A fantastic field site for the project. Many thanks to the farmers and villagers for their support.

Last day in the field, returning our NERC QUANTUM field kit to the University of Bristol Fenswood Farm field store, where we bumped into our Aviation Engineering colleagues flying drones. They kindly agreed to fly over our field site, producing aerial images for our future presentations!🧪

QUANTUM freshwaters continues with its upscaled national sampling from early morning to sunset in Wales Penny Johnes & Ana Castro-Castellon, DPhil. Grateful for the pleasant temperatures ~17-18oC. Hills in shades of green revealing their land use.

33/60 QUANTUM Freshwaters sites in SW & W England and Wales have now been sampled. Next stop N England and Scotland! By focusing on sheep, beef and dairy farmed catchments the national picture we are building of their impacts on UK rivers will help inform better policy & management

Adam Quinney🏴 QUANTUM Freshwaters FreshwaterQuality Natural Environment Research Council Ana Castro-Castellon, D.Phil Sydney Enns That's very kind, Adam. I've actually just finished all the English sites now, but if we're short of a beef site when I've completed the rest I will get back in touch! Sites are selected with a clear connection between the specific livestock type and the stream, with no sources.
