Many courses are preparing for aeration in the coming weeks. But how do you decide how much, or how little, aeration is necessary?

Dreary afternoon prep for the NJPGA Match Play tomorrow through Wednesday. Luckily the weather will warm up and dry out for the players. Turf is getting some much needed hydration this afternoon.

Bunker sand consistency is a common source of questions and complaints. Golfers wonder why sand doesn't play exactly the same from bunker to bunker on a course, and why the sand plays different at a course down the street. Here are some of the key reasons 👇

Interesting results from Roundup application to certain fescue areas last fall. You can see the strip we did not spray in November. In some areas if it wasn’t hard or sheep fescue it was taken out. Little Bluestem and Broomsedge unaffected. Could be beneficial over time

Renovations are happening at many courses and some are getting much-needed updates to their irrigation system. A new system is expensive and doesn't have much "wow factor" for golfers, but the investment will improve course conditions, water use, and operational efficiency 👇

A well-trained and experienced staff helps produce excellent playing surfaces, but the cost of hiring and retaining employees keeps rising. Budgets will have to adapt and superintendents will have to be creative to balance expectations and economic realities 👇
