This is insane. Basically Germany has now said that postdoc contracts cannot last longer than three years, and after that, they have to be offered permanent positions (of which no one proposed how to generate). Even my own position now would seemingly be illegal. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

Postdoc position available in our lab in collaboration with @R0bMoon in London on a Wellcome project investigating #Plasmodium knowlesi invasion. All new for us and super exciting. Advanced skills in microscopy and a keen interest in biophysics are a must.

Just went through your "Atlas"...what a (mountain) trip ! Huge congrats to Ben Liffner and Sabrina Absalon for expanding our understanding of #plasmodium's asexual life cycle!

We identify 22 Toxoplasma knockouts that significantly perturb host cell transcription, and validate the newly predicted functions of two of these. A new effector, which we call TgSOS1, has a particularly intriguing role in STAT6-mediated host cell reprogramming

I want to show who I really am and how I look like to #BreakTheStigma of having a lot of tattoos and still being successful in academia. Your skin color, gender, sexual orientation, clothes, tattoos, cultural/societal background, religion should not matter. #BeYou

We are so thrilled and proud to be sharing the final version of our paper on the role of VIT in #iron detoxification in #Toxoplasma! nature.com/articles/s4146…

Like knights of old, Toxoplasma wears a suit of armoured plates. But both share a problem, how to release internal payloads when it’s time? Toxo secretes dense granules as post-invasion weapons that control their hosts. But how do they get out? (1/6) biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Very excited to share our latest study using cryo-ET to investigate actin filaments in #Apicomplexan parasites. This allowed us to learn where do these filaments originate at the cell tip and how they could be managed down the cell body to power motility! nature.com/articles/s4146…
