Great start of the day at one-day symposium on " Droplets and Condensates in Biological Systems" by first talk by Dr. Roop mallik on " Targeting Kinesin on monolayer membranes: Implications to lipid homeostasis" CSIR-IGIB

Dr. sheetalgandotra from CSIR-IGIB gave an interesting talk on "Lipid turnover: lesson from a professional phagocyte" talking about her work on a small GTPase ARL8B and its role in lysosomal mediated LD turnover.

Third talk of the day by Dr. Samrat Mukhopadhyay at CSIR-IGIB on "A deep dive into biological Condensates" where he beautifully talks about how prion proteins can under phase separation !

An amazing talk by Dr. Shovamayee Maharana at CSIR-IGIB on "RNA-RBP condensates sense cellular RNA and buffer immune response" making us understand how RNA keeps prion like protein in soluble state!

Interesting talk by Dr. Priyabrata Mukherjee at CSIR-IGIB on protein UBAP2 and its role in marcopinocytosis

Our first virtual speaker Dr. Abdou Rachid Thiam presented his incredible work in his talk titled "From the biophysics to cell biology of lipid droplets" explaining elegantly how cholesterol ester rich LDs form!

Our second virtual speaker Dr. ZoherGueroui @zgueroui.bsky.social gave an amazing talk on "Engineering phase separation in cells to manipulate biomolecular Condensates" beautifully merging Condensates and lipid droplets..

Amazing talk by our online speaker Dr. Francesca Di-Nunzo on "HIV and nuclear biomolecular Condensates" explaining elegantly how HIV exploits liquid-liquid phase separation phenomenon to undergo nuclear reverse transcription and integrate into neighbouring active chromatin !

We end our one-day symposium on Droplets and Condensates in Biological Systems by fantastic talk by Dr. Shravanti who discussed her interesting work on how viruses can use methyltransferase activity of host factors to build inclusion bodies for efficient replication!
