I'm just a guy from Belleville trying to make it in the big city. It is an honor to know my family's name is part of Belleville's future; this community is such an important part of our history. What a joy to share this day with members of Belleville High School Class of 1970!

Hundreds of proud Belleville residents cheered on Monday afternoon, March 20, as the town symbolically renamed Beech Street in honor of native son Lonnie Bunch III, the first Black secretary of the Smithsonian.

We are sad to hear that Chita Rivera, dancer, singer, actress, and writer, passed away at age 91. She came to prominence through her role as Anita in West Side Story, and made use of her ability to dance and sing on stage in productions like Chicago and Kiss of the Spiderwoman.
