Managed to find the new Nova last night (WIKI: "V462 Lupi, also known as Nova Lupi 2025, is a bright nova in the constellation Lupus discovered by All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae (ASAS-SN) on 12 June 2025").

In other news, funding to feed the accretion disk of 3C 273 has been now reduced by 52%, and by 2031 it will stop being a quasar:

Our paper on ASASSN-24fw, led by R. Fores-Toribio (OSU), is now on astro-ph: arxiv.org/abs/2507.03080 It is a truly unusual source, and it should do it again in ~44 years!

But wait, there is more! Another paper about ASASSN-24fw just dropped on astro-ph: "ASASSN-24fw: Candidate circumplanetary disk occultation of a main-sequence star" arxiv.org/abs/2507.05367

Nova V462 Lup is still dark in X-rays according to the 45ks NuSTAR observation on 2025-06-30. The Fermi-LAT GeV detection implies that the shock must be there, probably hidden by extreme absorption within the ejecta. astronomerstelegram.org/?read=17281

With more than 10 years of all-sky coverage, we can now look for slowly-variable sources: "The Unhurried Universe: A Continued Search for Long Term Variability in ASAS-SN" arxiv.org/abs/2507.07174

Just found a promising nova candidate (12.0mag) in NMW survey images. Posted to TOCP as TCP J18385851-0351482. There are pre-discovery detections on the rise by Citizen ASAS-SN and ZTF Survey Spectroscopy needed!
