As we almost wrap up #SASQUAXXIV, our delegates got the #opportunity to explore the live excavation at #Boomplaas Cave. We thank Hayley Cawthra for giving insights about the geology and Justin Pargeter for allowing delegates into the cave and for an awesome presentation 👏

Setting up a field site from scratch is more complicated than I expected, but it does allow me to choose its name and personally design its logo 😉 “Ukophula” comes from isiXhosa and translates as “to crack”. I designed the logo after Rantsi, one of my favorite nutcrackers!
