I love that the UN Ocean Decade has made this video about our #MarineIdentity research! @ExeterMarine #MarSocSci #MarineCitizenship

Great Friday feeling when your research institute and the UN pick up on something you really believe in! A transdisciplinary co-conceptualisation of marine identity, led by the fantastic Dr Pamela Buchan Read our paper here> doi.org/10.1002/pan3.1…

But will they be? I apparently have the best ergonomic adjustable office seat design in the country but since it's designed for people taller than the average female height (5'3"), most women can't be comfortable in it. Caroline Criado Perez theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/o…

Been a while since I did any of my LondonEmbSchool goldwork. I'm unhappy with my first attempt at cut work and don't know if I have enough purl to re-do it and that paralysed me. But it's nearly Christmas and new courses may be on their way so I have to finish!

Had a brilliant chat with Linzi Hawkin this morning, recording a podcast for the Protect Blue Undercurrent programme for ocean advocates. Talked all things career, marine citizenship, and how to share the ocean-love as part of ocean advocacy. Thanks Linzi! protect.blue/undercurrent

Finally completed my LondonEmbSchool goldwork pear. Some bits I'm not happy about but not sure whether to re-do them or just leave it as my first goldwork to compare against in future. There may be new sewing arriving for Christmas so perhaps I'll leave as is for now.

Saw this ad in the Guardian today. Wondering if Persil UK & Ireland can explain it to me. It seems to be saying that blood from sport is brave but blood from a uterus is shameful. Weirdly it also suggests that Persil won't get your sports kit clean, but whatever, that's their business.

Listening to Laura Bates' new book. Would love to hear a response from The New Yorker's Daniel Immerwahr and Walter Scheirer on Ch1 where she highlights how they ignore the impacts of deep fakes on women when they say they've had no effects of consequence. EverydaySexism
