…and this morning (thanks to our new Board Monitor) we removed that graffiti from the affected Festival Park information board! Been a good day for those who celebrate the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival.

Meanwhile it was nice to spot our new After the Garden Festival... walking trail that takes you round the former site of the Glasgow Garden Festival 1988 out in the wild in leaflet stands across Glasgow today! You can also download a digital copy at glasgowgardenfestival.org

Never thought I’d share a magazine with a piece on a brutalist French naturist village, but here we are! (Have already enjoyed articles on the signage of the Tuscan bagni and on 20th-century funerary landscapes.) Get yours here the-modernist.org/products/the-m…

It’s a bit surreal when I came across this today. The fountain that was on display during Glasgow’s Garden Festival left to decay. It should be put back on display somewhere.

We have been informed that this paving used in the Liddesdale village of Newcastleton is a relic of the Garden Festival, transported there in a dozen lorries. No official confirmation, and very unlikely we'll ever pin down what feature it came from. But it's a nice thought.

We have some never-before seen photos from the Ann & David Lever archive! Here's a nice shot looking across the Fish Farm from the Magical Forest, towards the site of today's Science Centre and BBC HQ, with Waves Food Court doing good trade. Credit: Ann & David Lever archive

Another unseen photo from the Ann & David Lever archive: the easter end of Countryside Commission for Scotland's 'Discover Scotland’s Countryside'. Beautifully landscaped former dockland, this spot now lies under Pacific Drive at Govan Road. glasgowgardenfestival.org/object_record/…

Final previously-unseen photo (for now) from the Ann & David Lever archive: weather doesn't look too great but it's still a packed crowd on the High Street! A dense tribute in scaffold to Glasgow's most iconic buildings (and a summer-only branch of John Smith Books on the left).
