Our new study published in Nature Communications, led by Ghislain Rocheleau and team. Using TOPMed WGS data, estimate heritability of CAD is 34%. Ultra-rare variants with low LD score contribute ~50% of the heritability. Enrichment in several functional processes. nature.com/articles/s4146…

🚀 Thrilled to announce our latest #preprint on intraplaque haemorrhage (IPH) quantification and molecular 🧬characterisation of carotid plaques using deep learning. A thread 🧵👇🏽

2/ With data from the Athero-Express, we developed a framework to analyse whole-slide images🔬 for better IPH detection and analysis. 📊 H&E staining showed strong results, and combining it with other stains further improved accuracy.

3/ Our model precisely localises IPH within plaques, quantifying its area and facilitating downstream analyses of its association with clinical 🩺 outcomes and molecular 🧬 features.
