The history of one region and one in country in one office ! The #NationalArchives in Juba are a treasure and the foundation of nationbuilding efforts. But one fire or one break-in and all could be gone. Supporting and protecting the Archives is of national importance.

I was warmly received by DG Mawien, the legendary founders of #RiftValleyInstitute John Ryle and Jok Madut Jok and the great staff of the #NationalArchives. They are hard working and do a great favour to South Sudan to preserve its memory ! Unsung heros.

The staff of the #NationalArchives just finished a 3 day training in Archive Management&Digitalisation. Honoured to participate in the closing session and hand out certificates. Well done, Paska, Tako, Suzan, Angelina, Machot, Luga and so many others. Well deserved !

The EU is a staunch supporter of the constitution-making process, so immensly important for the country.

There was a spirit of hands-down, let's-do-it in the room. I hope this training will contribute to sound practices and advance the roadmap. Its purpose is to get South Sudan out of the grey list and stengthen the int' financial system: a win-win, but it needs collective efforts

I was honoured to assist at the opening of this crucial training in issuing civil documents to vulnerable people. Far more than a technical training, it is about social identities and access to public services. All merit an address, IDs and protection. No one should be stateless.

Gender based violence is prevalant in the private sphere, in public, at the workplace, online. It is horrible. It must end. No excuses. Under no circumstance. Let us turn the 16 days into 365. And do MUCH more for women empowerment and women leadership.

What a wonderful idea to ride for the 16 days campaign. The EU and the UN, in p. UNWOMEN, are united in purpose. Let us all join all forces to end all gender based violence. To resist, women need to be fully empowered - which is a significant objective in all EU programmes.

I was honoured to be at the launch of the FES's policy brief. The brief has a + message: it is still possible to hold credible elections in Dec 26 if there is pol will and pol decisions are taken. NEC could then go ahead (eg voter education). But the time to act is NOW.
