Last day of the season for the pros, and the rest of us too. Remarkably, we’re on for The Authors CC v Chelsea Arts Club. Batting first, carnage coming.

Authors playing their last game of season, against Chelsea Arts Club CC at Stonor Park. Authors 81 for 4 off 23 overs.

Wonderful last game of season vs Chelsea Arts Club CC. We won by 30 runs but their number 4 nearly got them there, until Thomas Probert castled him. For which he wins the Rathbones Group Plc moment of match.

Absolutely GLORIOUS. The Authors CC have played with some of the lads watching Corfu Literary Festival 💙, superb bunch of players.

CONGRATS 🥂 Tom Holland looking forward to seeing you 10th May presenting new translation of Suetonius and then The Authors CC v Campden Select XI on Sunday 11th campdenmayfestivals.co.uk/literature/eve…

An absolutely top interview with moi in Telegraph Books, which as well as noting - correctly - that I look 35, ends with the tremendous detail that I was the 2024 The Authors CC Fielder of the Year telegraph.co.uk/books/authors/…

First match of the season with The Authors CC at the spectacular Goodwood CC. A century for Sam Carter, rapid runs for Tom Eadon, and a handful of wickets for Charlie Campbell and myself ... but a superb innings from Goodwood's number three sees us lose narrowly.

#EliteSport comes to the Cotswolds, as The Authors CC take on the might of Chipping Campden. At tea, Chipping Campden have scored 167/7 off their 35 overs. Pick of the bowlers: Nicholas Hogg with 6-0-31-3. I take 6-1-25-0 - so no wickets but my gym-honed body holds up well…

Great day out with the The Authors CC at Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. A win, a four-fer, and some daisies. With runs from Peter Frankopan and Ben Falk to bring it home.

Tomorrow, in the idyllic setting of Little Marlow, The Authors CC are playing the Artists for the first time since 1911. The Artists (being artists) are currently two short. If you would like to play, then please don't hesitate to say! (No need to be an artist.)

Last month, we headed to lovely Little Marlow C.C. to play The Authors CC for the first time in years 🏏 We chased leather around in the sunshine and, despite a fine century from Will, we finished a distant second ☀️ Here's hoping for better next year 📅 bbc.in/40szUdV
