A very good population of the uncommon moss Antitrichia curtipendula on this oak tree in Easter Ross, Scotland, a couple of days ago. I first saw it on this tree in the 1990s. Long may it last!

Sea Aster and the largest specimen of Sea Arrowgrass I've ever seen (a big clump 80 cm across and about 70 cm high). In saltmarsh vegetation near Stirling.

Very happy to have just found the oceanic liverwort Frullania teneriffae on a Grey Willow in woodland in West Lothian, Scotland. My fourth finding of this strongly western species in W Lothian, well to the east of its main range.

Just found this old wall in Argyll with Navelwort, Rustyback, Maidenhair Spleenwort and Black Spleenwort all close together. Good to see the first two species this far north.

Interesting to find what look like bulbils in the leaf axils of the moss Isothecium myosuroides in Argyll yesterday. The photo is poor (low light level), so I've included better photos of similar material at other sites in the west Highlands in recent years.

Great painting. I like the muted colours. I went there once. I got out of the train in a bit of a rush, thinking it was Manchester Piccadily, only to find it was actually Manchester Oxford Road (which I'd never heard of).

Great picture with really good colours and interesting juxtaposition of older and newer styles of architecture. I like the way the eye is drawn along the street to the distant blue building.

Interesting to find Bog Bilberry (Vaccinium uliginosum) in native pine woodland near Tyndrum yesterday, during a visit with a group from NWDG. The altitude here (about 260 m) is relatively low for this species, which grows mainly in montane and submontane heaths and bogs.

Scotland's nature is in trouble, and we need Scottish Government to put funding in place to help it recover. Join me in telling finance secretary Shona Robison MSP not to cut funding for nature in the Scottish budget on 4 December: scotlink.eaction.online/naturefunding #ScotlandLovesNature
