D-Day was the largest seaborne invasion in history. Fromt countless acts of heroism that day, only one man was awarded the Victoria Cross; Company Sergeant Major Stanley Hollis of the Green Howards The Royal Yorkshire Regiment. Remembering him and allt rest #DDay79

Today, we remember Private Emile CORTEIL of TheParachuteRegiment and his MWD Glen, who died on the 6th June 1944, Emile was 19 years old. His Commonwealth War Graves grave reads Had you known our boy you would have loved him too 'Glen' his paratroop dog was killed with him #OpOverlord #DDay #LWF


Currently on BBC Cornwall Damien Lewis is talking to the @davidwhiteshow about one of his newer books Damien of course wrote the wonderful book on Judy a dog that will represent the Royal Navy on our memorial & is one of our Patrons He is speaking this week at Armed Forces Day 🇬🇧
