During her opening remarks at the #BusinessOfNutrition event, Mrs. Joyce Atuhaire, Country Director Awan_Uganda highlighted the vital role women play in shaping food systems & nutrition, despite facing challenges like limited access to land & finance. She emphasized #AWAN’s 🧵

She called for collaboration among stakeholders—academia, civil society, government, & development agencies—to co-create solutions for nutritional challenges. Atuhaire urged efforts to boost both supply & demand for nutritious foods, emphasizing awareness campaigns to promote

healthier consumption. She acknowledged Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN @GAINUganda256) for their support and concluded by thanking the government for its partnership in advancing women’s roles in agriculture.
