Enantioselective Transition-Metal Catalysis via an Anion-Binding Approach by John Ovian, Petra Vojáčková, and Eric N. Jacobsen Jacobsen Lab at Harvard Chemistry in nature nature.com/articles/s4158…

Happy to see my first publication of my PhD out in JACS! We implement phosphine chemistry to drive a stepwise molecular motor! Big thanks for the collaboration with Patrick Zwick, Stefan Borsley, and Dave Leigh! Stay tuned!🔥 pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Out now in Nature Synthesis, endergonic synthesis through chemical fuelling. Congrats to enzo olivieri James Gallagher Alex Betts & T⌬ufic W. Mrad! nature.com/articles/s4416…

Finally, after 5 years working on it with Stefan Borsley and Dave Leigh, here is our review on ratchet mechanisms in molecular machines and beyond onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…. This started out as the intro to my report for my first year of PhD

Five years in the making with Ben Roberts 🇪🇺 and Dave Leigh! Out now in Angewandte Chemie, find out how to give chemistry direction with our comprehensive review on Molecular Ratchets: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an… A brief description in the tread below.

Out now as an Accepted Article in Angewandte Chemie, Stefan Borsley & Ben Roberts 🇪🇺 review & discuss how chemistry can be driven inexorably away from equilibrium, rather than relax towards it😃onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

Out in Nature Chemistry with Guillaume De Bo grp. Overhand knot substantially increases scission of polymer under tension (≥2.6× faster); deformation by knot tightening activates otherwise unreactive bonds. Congrats Min Zhang Fredrik Schaufelberger Lucian &Rob! shorturl.at/dv037

Budding molecular magicians are invited to apply for a 4-year PhD studentship on catalysis-driven molecular machinery (e.g. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…; nature.com/articles/s4158…; etc) available in my group, autumn 2025 start: tinyurl.com/kdw6mtcr. Position open until filled😃

Very sad news of the passing of Fraser Stoddart, a giant of chemistry for four decades. He pioneered (with J-P Sauvage) the chemistry of the mechanical bond (catenanes & rotaxanes) & recognised that their well defined motions could be useful for molecular machinery... 1/3

A really fun project from Dave Leigh, delivered on the back of Peng-Lai Wang ’s fantastic efforts, ably assisted by Martin Power and our collaborators in Strasbourg, Alessandro and Giuseppone Chemistry Research Group, who taught us lots of polymer and materials chemistry. Thanks all!

Check out how we made a minuscule motor rotate 24 times in one direction on its own! Huge thanks to all involved, especially Dave Leigh for making this work possible ACS Publications Huakui Liu Axel Troncossi Stefan Borsley Ben Roberts 🇪🇺 Alex Betts pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

An incredible honor to receive award! Thank you so much to the committee, friends, collaborators and Supramolecular Chemistry for recognizing my work. Thrilled to share this achievement with my friend Qing He. Look forward to meeting you all in ISMSC2025, Kyoto
