CA. 14yrs old 1st police contact. 10th grade is when I dropped out of school. I was arrested charged as an adult at the age of 17, and sentence to 36 yrs to life. I served 23 yrs and was released August 17, 2018. I've out for 1 yr and 10 months.

I grew up in South Central Los Angeles/ Watts. I was raised by my mother up until the age of 10, when my stepfather entered my life. I dealt with my pain and childhood traumas by shutting down and playing sports. I eventually joined a gang out of peer pressure.

I had a strong desire to play organized sports, but it costed so I wasn't allowed to participate. If these were available to me I believe I wouldn't have joined a gang and traveled down a destructive path.

The prison system is degrading and unproductive. It's designed to break ones spirit and it breeds division and violence between races.

What the public should know is that these organizations that are so-called designed to keep our public safe are deeply rooted in brutal tactics that continue to keep the wounds of pain and trauma open opposed helping heal these wounds.

Covid19 has placed everyone in prison on deathrow literally. It's impossible to practice physical distance.

They are humans with families and they deserve to be treated fairly.

My friend tested negative on 6/25 and died on 7/25. He was mixed with positive cases after he tested negative. San Quentin doesn’t have anything under control & these are the conditions he was forced to live in before he died:

The way you feel about trump trying to prevent people from voting is exactly how currently and formerly incarcerated ppl have been feeling like, forever.

Although I'm currently on parole and I can't vote. The seriousness of voting is important to me. I'm made sure I showed up with my other half to support her as she cast votes for #YesOnProp17 and #NoOnProp20.

If what we're investing in is not enhancing the quality of human life, making our communities safer and our schools better equipped to prepare our children for the the future then it's a waste.

It's going to take a collaboration of voices and a collective effort from those of us who desire freedom, justice and equality for the masses.

We can't have an elected government that represents all of us when some members of our community are being excluded from our elections and denied the ability to participate in our democracy. Today is the day to vote #YesOnProp17 to #FreeTheVote because #DemocracyNeedsEveryone.

In order to see systemic change the ppl must continue to apply pressure on every government institution and official.

Let's be real and acknowledge that the United States of America is still functioning with the same foul spirit that it was 400 years ago. She just learned mask it well using skilled deception tactics.

The lady of justice really is blind because if she wasn't she would see the inequality, and biases occurring throughout the legal system.

I pray that people rush to be injected with the will to change the injustices of the legal system, the same way they're rushing to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
