Out of interest, #GPTwitter, What proportion of your patient demand is driven by the failure of care for those ‘patients in purgatory’?

The NHS Crew did it- three peak challenge. Donations by so many of you have made all of this so worthwhile. We are immensely grateful to you all. Those who have not yet managed to donate, please do it here. A short clip of the crew at Snowdon. justgiving.com/team/nhs-crew?…

NHS Digital data underestimates hours GPs work A ‘session’ measured as 4hrs 10mins suggests a GP doing 6 = 25hrs/wk In reality much longer See prucomm.ac.uk/assets/uploads… Also bjgp.org/content/early/…

Fascinating. NHSE have assessed worst case scenario of GP Collective Action. Stopping non-contractual work could cost the NHS £570m in the first 4 months. Extrapolated - NHS England have just admitted General Practice is doing £1.7billion of non-contractual work every year

If grassroots GPs are telling @DrKatie.BSky.Social "this is going to break us", the time for collective action in general practice is surely NOW. Make sure you are involved to protect your practice, your staff and your patients. bma.org.uk/our-campaigns/…

Our recent survey revealed 1 in 5 GPs in England plan to change their career because they can’t find work - write to your MP and urge them to support changes that will allow more GPs to work in the NHS. ✍️Write to your MP now by using our tool activism.bma.org.uk/page/166441/ac…

Collective action will now be aimed at ICBs rather than the Government, with GP leaders advising practices to continue at a local level despite the new contract deal. buff.ly/DBsrXAS #GPcontract #GPcollectiveaction #NHSdisputes #NHSEngland

Example 101 of NHS Referral forms being a way of restricting care to patients. Would a consultant to consultant referral be blocked for this? Why are GP referrals being blocked? (We don't use referral forms unless helpful ala collective action)

Great chart below/right from Institute for Fiscal Studies about ridiculous tax cliff at £100k cuasing *obscene* marginal tax rates. But you can draw a very similar chart (left) for higher earning doctors affected by the stupid & ill-conceived #taper which is **really damaging** waiting list
