A Metropolitan Police firearms officer took an "unjustified" decision to shoot Chris Kaba, during an incident in September 2023 despite the fact there was no "immediate threat to life", a prosecutor has told an Old Bailey jury.

Jury told Chris Kaba had reversed back from a police car blocking his path at the time the trigger was pulled by officer Martyn Blake who is on trial for murder.

Tom Little KC tells jury "was this a case of mistaken belief as to risk, or as we say, was this an unlawful decision to kill." "Nothing Chris Kaba did in the seconds before he was shot justified the defendant's decision to shoot" he says.

Martyn Blake, 40 denies a single count of murder.
