Our next Senior Spotlight is William Sweeney! At Boston College, William shares that he has “developed a visceral personal sense of what it means to be an engineer.” William is looking to work in a BME firm and would also love to work in the startup space. Good luck, William!

From April 11-13, 24 engineers from all four grade levels participated in the Ingenia retreat. Together, the group took a step back from the business of their lives in Chestnut Hill and connected to the Ignatian values that our school and program are built on.

Our next Senior Spotlight is Charlie Neill! Over the past four years, Charlie has developed a more holistic way of thinking about the world. After graduating, Charlie will be working as an entry-level engineer at Acorn Engineering in Portland, Maine. Good luck, Charlie!

Our next Senior Spotlight is Maggie Hynes! “​​I understand more how I can best bridge what I love, what I am good at, and what the world needs from me,” she says. In the future, Maggie hopes to use skills she learned at the makerspace with other changemakers. Good luck, Maggie!

Our next Senior Spotlight is Kate Serpe! Looking back, Kate says that she “really enjoyed being able to work with the Campus School during the Introduction to HCE course." After graduating, Kate is going to medical school to become a pediatrician. Good luck, Kate!

Our final Senior Spotlight is Cyrus Rosen! Cyrus' favorite HCE memory has been “dinners in San Clemente, Ecuador with Will P. and (his) host family on the service engineering trip." After graduating, Cyrus will be working at Park Pictures in NYC. Good luck, Cyrus!

What says “finals” more than pancakes and ice cream? Yesterday, students, faculty, and staff enjoyed Professor Gaudette’s homemade pancakes and Coldsnap ice cream during our Study Break Brunch. Happy first day of finals, everyone, and good luck this week!

The first Engineering Projects Showcase was held on April 28, a day that will go down in history for the Department of Engineering. The projects displayed our students' dedication to service for the common good and accomplishments towards becoming Human-Centered Engineers.

As a part of the Class of 2025’s farewell tour, the department held a Senior Celebration on Sunday, May 18. As Professor Gaudette reminded us: always remember to be attentive, reflective, and loving. HCE is better place because of you!
