Native Americans experience some of the most significant health disparities. Despite a legal obligation in U.S. treaties to provide healthcare to Native populations, the Indian Health Service (Indian Health Service) remains chronically underfunded.

Kudos to Dr. Severe from one of our patients! 👏 “I really appreciate the first doctor that I saw, Dr. Severe. Even though I had lots of complications, I still want to make it known that I really appreciate Dr. Severe.”

Grateful for the incredible collaboration between BCM_EmergencyMed and BCM_Surgery attendings & the surgical team in preparing the next generation of physicians! Together, we volunteered to teach essential procedures to ~50 fourth-year BCMHouston medical students.
