Six-belted Clearwing to lure at Ladywalk NR this afternoon. Didn’t enter the trap, I netted it but after release it obligingly settled on some vegetation. A really stunning-looking moth. BC Warwickshire Phil Andrews

My message to everyone everywhere, from today & starting off the new hashtag, is #LetNETTLESgrow Not only will this increase the population of 5 butterfly species, it will also increase many moths too 🌿🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🌿 Butterfly Conservation 🦋 The Wildlife Trusts BBC Breakfast

A newly emerged Lime Hawk-moth. This is one I reared from eggs left by a female in 2023 and which mostly emerged in 2024. This was one of 2 pupae which failed to emerge then and they still looked hearlthy so I kept them to try again this year BC Warwickshire Butterfly Conservation 🦋

74:41 last night, with the undisputed stars being NFY Grass Wave (2nd garden record) and Green Silver Lines, as well as NFG Thyraylia nana. Also good to see Tawny-barred Angle again after an absence last year. Phil Andrews BC Warwickshire

Just managed to reach 100 moth species by the end of May with 5 NFY overnight - Elephant Hawkmoth, Small Magpie, Celypha lacunana, Barred Fruit-tree Tortrix and Teleiodes vulgella B74 VC38 SK10 Ruth Newby BC Warwickshire EcoRecord

1st Meadow Browns of the year on yesterdays Brandon Marsh transect and a couple of Green Hairstreak still hanging on . BC Warwickshire Butterfly Conservation 🦋 Warwickshire Wildlife Trust

In 2024 we did not get any Small Tortoiseshells on our transect walks. Today we had two. Hopefully the decline for this species is coming to the end. NatureUK Butterfly Conservation 🦋 BC Warwickshire butterfliesforeveruk

31:18 last night, Small Fan-foot (only 2nd garden record, surprisingly) and Scoparia ambigualis were NFY. Even more surprising was another Grass Wave: surely Friday night’s couldn’t have stuck around in the garden that long? Phil Andrews BC Warwickshire

Approx 25 Meadow Browns seen at Blythe Valley Park near Solihull this morning, all fresk looking males BC Warwickshire Butterfly Conservation 🦋

A nice female Common Blue seen at Blythe Valley Park near Solihull this morning. Brown ones like this are still the most common form around here although examples with more blue are becoming more common here. BC Warwickshire Butterfly Conservation 🦋

A mating pair of Speckled Wood seen at Blythe Valley near Solihull last Wednesday, something I have only seen a few times before despite seeing loads of SW over the years. Photo taken with flash as they were tucked down in the shade BC Warwickshire Butterfly Conservation 🦋

A productive local morning walk around Baddesley Ensor produced 6 Marbled White, a new Dingy Skipper site, Peacock larval webs, 4 Large Skipper, 2 Small Tortoiseshell and this, our first Six-spot Burnet of the year. BC Warwickshire
