Here's another photo of the new for garden Jersey Mocha from last night in Wattisfield, West Suffolk. Supporting cast included the first Vestal of the year and 2 L-album Wainscot, alongside a single Delicate and Rush Veneer.

A good session on the ivy last night, with 21 species found on the usual beat. Silver-Y (left) has been very scarce anywhere this year, whilst the Vestal (right) was drinking mouldy blackberries. #moths

Not sure how I'm gonna moth trap after this year, only started by getting involved with the trapping here. 6 months later and I've just gotten a 3rd for the UK... The Sorcerer, first UK record for 16 years and our first new macro for the Obs list this year 🥳

Throwback to midsummer this morning with a Scarce Silver-lines in the trap (normal flight period is June/July). Brindled Green however is a classic autumnal creature. #moths

Another excellent moth trap in Wattisfield last night, albeit the stars of the show being on the external egg boxes - my first 2 Four-spotted Footman! A Clancy's Rustic & Dark Sword-grass were both on the wall. Nfy inc. Pink-barred Sallow, Sallow, Brindled Green & Deep-brown Dart

National Landscape volunteers had a cracking good day at Westleton Common 💪 We worked together to cut and rake bracken and clear gorse and birch, which allowed us to reinstate a path last used in the 1920s according to local lore!

Wattisfield moth trap last night saw the 5th Clifden of 2025, now the best year for the species here. A 2nd Vestal was rather poorly marked, while a 2nd generation Scarce Silver Lines was pleasing, having seen others post them recently. 2 Dewick's & an L-album also trapped:
