Good news for butterflies in the Midlands! 📰 More than 60 hectares of new habitat have been created as part of a four-year project aimed at helping rare species, including the Pearl-bordered Fritillary & Grizzled Skipper 👉 butterfly-conservation.org/news-and-blog/… 📷: John Davis, Iain H Leach

went cool last night. 25 species; nothing outstanding but nice to get Ancylis badiana (Meadow Hook-wing) and always like to see Beautiful Golden Y as was one of the species that started my interest many years ago. West Midlands Butterfly Conservation

I purposely planted alder buckthorn in a new mixed, native hedgerow in 2021, with the sole intent of boosting brimstone butterfly numbers on the farm. This year, I found their caterpillars happily feeding on the plants 😍 Butterfly Conservation 🦋 West Midlands Butterfly Conservation
