Tower Hamlets is only one of three councils that has failed to meet social housing standards. 23% of social housing does not meet decent homes standards. Overdue: 2,500 fire safety actions, 1,400 communal electricity actions, and 750 water safety actions. This is not good enough.

A couple of sunny sessions talking to residents this week, lots of concern on the doorstep about how Lutfur Rahman and the Aspire party are spending the Tower Hamlets Council's budget given that the best value inspection found a 'culture of patronage' in the council

Sunny Saturday canvass session in Bethnal Green East Ward Labour We had lots of good conversations with residents of Sutton Est. Strong support for Labour. Residents expressed unhappiness with Clarions management of their estate including residents not allowed to use the community centre.

Bethnal Green Road deserves better. We fought hard to secure 3 million funding from LIF to improve it — but five years on, nothing’s changed. The streets are still neglected, the money’s gone, and our community has been let down. We deserve investment, and real leadership.

Spoke yesterday to an LBTH tenant who has been left with a leak thru their ceiling for the past 2 years. Its now so bad his children can't use their bedroom. Mayor Rahman's chaotic meddling in this service has led good staff to leave + the Regulator to issue this damning judgment
