It's that time of year again. Our summer migrants head south for the winter but we get a new batch of birds from the north. Listen here as 1000s of sand martins & swallows converge along the SE coast, heading to roost for the night, staging on their journey to Africa. Safe trip!

Comment: The Planning and Development Bill 2023 is set to pass tomorrow. It’s a disaster for the climate and is something of an emblem of the state’s increasing attempts to sign away the country to further global exploitation. ontheditch.com/comment-the-pl…

Great crowd for the Farming for Water EIP event in Moynalty. The message is clear. There is support there to implement the right measure in the right place and address #waterquality. Now is the time to use it while the funding is in place. 💧More info: farmingforwater.ie

I have vivid memories of swinging out of the branches of large mature trees, climbing in and out of hedges and running through a line of Aspen. I hope these kids know what they have gifted future generations of Slane NS! Thank you for getting involved!🌱🌳👏

Nice to see the #layeredmowing approach applied in Kells in 2024 highlighted in the promotion of the All-Ireland #PollinatorPlan Council Partner report. This is just off the road and footpath on the R147 as you come into Kells off the N52 roundabout. Couldn't help but admire!🐝

The caterpillar of Marsh Fritillary, the only Irish insect listed on Annex II of the EU Habitats Directive. This is a rare find in Co. Meath, known only to a very small number of local sites. Looking forward to paying them a visit in the summer!🦋

Studies show that many 'wildflower' seed mixes contain non-native species & can inadvertently introduce invasive species Mow less, remove grass clippings, & local wildflowers will grow naturally. It takes time, but it's worth the wait #PatienceNotPackets
