Caucus Member Latrice Walker is here to give us details on what The Second Look Act would do for NY's carceral system. #agencyandaction

Listen to Latrice Walker explain the Second Look Act, an important bill we sponsor together to allow for long prison sentences to be reconsidered by judges when it's in the interest of justice:

Wearing orange alongside my NYS BPHA Legislative Caucus colleagues during National Gun Violence Awareness Month, always proud to stand in solidarity with survivors and advocate for a safer future across our state.

Today, the NYS BPHA Legislative Caucus marked Gun Violence Awareness Day of Action. I look forward to advancing solutions including my bill to stop the spread of illegal “Glock switches” and hold gun makers accountable. It’s time to #EndGunViolence in NY.

NEW: 16 NYC Council Members led by Technology Committee Chair CM Jen Gutiérrez are calling for passage of the S1169/A8884, the New York AI Act! “to us, leading in AI also means being a leader in the responsible use of AI by acting swiftly to ensure its safe development.”

Yesterday, Michaelle C. Solages and I passed a bill in honor of my cousin Desha, who died at just 12 after going into cardiac arrest at school. The equiptment to save her was there, but no one knew how to use it. This bill ensures that will never happen again. For Desha. For every child.
