Advanced ESL students in Mrs. Mellows' class have been reading Chapter books since September. Currently, they are reading "Ghost" and are eager to continue with this exciting reading journey. BayonneBOE


Mrs. Orlandoâs Spanish 2 class. Students were able to log into hellosmart.com and send their descriptions of each other to the smart board for everyone to read. The students enjoyed reading about each other on a big screen. BayonneBOE

Bilingual Spanish staff celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Dr. Walter F. Robinson Community School #familia BayonneBOE


Students in the Bilingual Spanish Classes Dr. Walter F. Robinson Community School celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by holding a Hispanic Heritage Fair for all students in the school. Everyone, children and adults alike, enjoyed learning about the Hispanic culture during the fair BayonneBOE


Students in Mrs. Orlando's Spanish class designed a postage stamp based on a country that could be part of a Hispanic Heritage stamp series with a brief description of their typical food, an artifact and typical dance of that country. BayonneBOE


Ms. Pineiro's students participated in a "Hispanic Heritage Month Music Madness" bracket. Students were introduced to new songs every day, encouraging them to engage with the Spanish language and celebrate other cultures. This year was La Republica Dominicana won. BayonneBOE


Mrs. Fernandez's students participated in the 2022 Fire Prevention Poster Contest. The theme was "Fire Won't Wait. Plan Your Escape". Students also created an evacuation plan where they marked two exit routes, locations of smoke detectors and a meeting location. BayonneBOE


Ms. Pineiro's Spanish students are learning about the Mexican Day of the Dead tradition and celebrations. They are decorating "calaveras". BayonneBOE


Students in Mrs. Gomez' class had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the new "patitos" after patiently waiting for the eggs to hatch. BayonneBOE Dr. Walter F. Robinson Community School


Students in Ms. Fanous' reach class enjoyed learning how to write their names and short messages in hieroglyphics, learned about cultural recipes, and worked together in small groups to solve puzzles. BayonneBOE Dr. Walter F. Robinson Community School
