Glorious Birmingham Royal Ballet <Sleeping Beauty> at Mayflower last evening. Sets and costumes stunning. Dancers as well drilled as The Household Division at Trooping the Colour, and Royal Ballet Sinfonia sounding like an orchestra twice its size. Bravi tutti.

On the last day of our run of Swan Lakes @RoyalOperaHouse we bid a fond but sad farewell to our fabulous Principal Second Violinist Naori Takahashi, who leaves us for the same role at ROH. We wish her every happiness for the future.

Important day for the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. We welcome our Principal Conductor Paul Murphy to his new role as Music Director. Paul has been a dedicated and loyal member of @brb for 32 years. We also welcome Claire Dersley as our new Head of Orchestra Operations.

Congratulations to our hardworking and dedicated Orchestra Manager Andrew Bentley on receiving his 25 year service silver medal from our Music Director Paul Murphy!

Tonight we bade a very fond but sad, proper farewell to our fantastic departed Musical Director of fourteen years Koen Kessels. We wish him all the very best for the future and hope to work with him again.

After 35 incredible years, we will say farewell to Conductor Philip Ellis in March. Phil moved with us to Birmingham in 1990 after joining Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet in 1989. He has conducted over 2000 shows with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia! We wish Phil all the best!
