No sign of the Snow Bunting on the north #MalvernHills early morning but a calling Crossbill that flew north along the east side of North Hill was unexpected given how scarce they've been this year. A pair of Stonechats remain on Table Hill (📷 from yesterday). #WorcsBirds

A ray of hope in the desert. First saw these incredible birds in 2018 and again in 2020. Both unforgettable experiences. youtu.be/WoyJdCVCJBQ?si… This latest news is very encouraging.

One of six Goldeneye (2 ♂️ & 4 ♀️) at Grimley Camp Lane Pits this morning. A welcome distraction while not seeing the super elusive Bittern. #WorcsBirds

Decent 30 minutes at Grimley Camp Lane Pits earlier with the drake Ring-necked Duck showing well along with the usual suspects including an impressive seven Goldeneye. #WorcsBirds

European Greenfinch is a familiar species to birders across Europe. But this bird, seen in Kashmir over the past few days, is the first confirmed record for India! Thanks to Mohammad Ishaq Lone for this great picture. #BirdsSeenIn2025 #IndiAves

Not quite the up close views of Snow Bunting I'm used to on the Malvern Hills but great to see the Longdon Marsh bird this morning. Only my 4th lowland Snow Bunting in the county, the others being at Holt, Grimley and Sinton Green. Also 1+ Great Egret and Red Kite. #WorcsBirds

Any hope of finding spring migrants on the #MalvernHills early this morning was quickly thwarted with a fresh overnight fall of snow. Thankfully the Stonechats remained undeterred despite the perishingly cold north wind. #WorcsBirds

Yellow-browed Warbler at Betancuria, #Fuerteventura, #CanaryIslands. One of at least two birds present around the village, this male was singing near the church this morning. #BirdsSeenin2025 #Spain

A poor record shot of the male Ring Ouzel on the south-east side of North Hill in Chat Valley #MalvernHills this morning. Unusually it was silent, soon disappearing amongst the gorse and I never saw it again. #WorcsBirds

Pleased to find this female Black Redstart on the south-east side of North Hill in Chat Valley #MalvernHills early this morning - my first on the hills for 3 years. Also a Swallow flew north and Willow Warbler numbers continue to increase with seven males in song. #WorcsBirds

Great to be birding in India, again! Thanks to my friend Mohit Mehta for showing us around his amazing local patch at Chandu, Haryana. Just a few of the many highlights; Oriental Pratincole, Greater Painted-Snipe and Black Francolin. #BirdsSeenIn2025 #India #IndiAves

With 430+ species recorded on a recent tour of north-east India, there are plenty of contenders for bird of the trip. But given its spectacular looks and the incredible views we enjoyed, this male Temminck's Tragopan wins hands down! #IndiAves #BirdsSeenIn2025 #India

This Tree Pipit is holding territory on Midsummer Hill #MalvernHills. Noting it had a metal ring last week I managed to obtain enough images for it to be read. Turns out it was ringed in the Forest of Dean #GlosBirds on 11.08.16, smashing the UK longevity record for the species.
