Temminck’s Stints at Clifton this morning - they would often disappear from view, hidden by the edge of the bank, as they fed along the eastern shore of the south pit. Only 24 years since I last saw one in the county! @WorcsBirding #WorcsBirds

Great to catch up with the two Temminck's Stints at Clifton this evening. A well deserved find by Edward Lea this morning. My first in the county since the one at Grimley in 2020. #WorcsBirds

The BTO GWCT Science 2023 #Woodcock Survey results are out and show an ongoing decline of 35% in Britian since 2003, but a surprising 50% decrease in Scotland! Thanks to all the surveyors who helped collect this vital data, which will inform the future conservation actions.

This is at least the 5th year in a row a brood has appeared at Flashes ##uptonwarren . Although we have constructed 2 Shelduck boxes inside the fox fence, they never use them & prefer to run the gauntlet of foxes as they bring the chick's from nest sites hundreds of metres away😱

Worcestershire Beacon this afternoon. 40+ Swifts feeding low over the grass on the east side of the hill. Offering fantastic close views to within a couple of meters at times. They were joined by 6 House Martins and 1 Swallow. Singing Skylark overhead.

A Jay with food taken last Friday in the Wyre Forest. It was high up in the canopy, but showed resonably well. @WorcsBirding @WestMidsBirding

First visit to #uptonwarren on a bit of an overcast day...what a lovely place! Definitely worth it to see the Med Gull (lifer for us) and Avocets. Other highlights Oystercatcher, Pochard, Sedge and Reed Warbler. With Melanie Wilkie-Pollock
