Throwback Thursday: A trip down memory lane. This photo shows a full moon rising above Duncan Bridge on Lewis Smith Lake in Alabama. This is the lake where I cut my fishing teeth and have so many wonderful memories while growing up.

There is no way for me to express how much the hundreds, or maybe thousands, of nights that I’ve spent fishing Smith Lake means to me. No way! While my classmates were out on dates, going to parties, or hanging out on Friday and Saturday nights, I was on the lake fishing.

Our research found that, by 2028, AI data centers in the U.S. could require as much as 720 billion gallons of water annually just to cool their servers 😳 As this technology grows, we need regulations to protect our most basic resource! bbc.com/news/articles/…

ā€œThe lack of clarity around how much water this project will use is the product of one thing: the secrecy of this developer, and whatever big tech company is actually behind this,ā€ Miller said...

ā€œSecrecy is a big reason that the residents of Bessemer and the other people in this community where the data center is proposed are so upset. When they have questions, nobody is giving them a straight answer.ā€

The Sipsey Fork, one of the Black Warrior River's three major tributaries (along with the Locust and Mulberry Forks) is Alabama’s only Wild and Scenic River along its upper reaches, where its headwaters originate in the 24,962-acre Sipsey Wilderness and Bankhead National Forest.
