Structured illumination microscopy (SIM) demonstrated using a photonic chip to reduce footprint of illumination path of SIM to ~4 × 4 cm^2. On-chip waveguides create interference patterns which illuminate the sample via evanescent fields. go.nature.com/2YY1aSI
