Miss McFarlane’s S4 class took part in UK Parliament Education Learn with the Lords Question Time to find out if the House of Lords is effective in scrutinising the government. Lots of interesting information shared by @ruthanderson David Anderson Natalie Bennett & Lord Hayward. Thank you!

Thank you to PC Campbell from Police Scotland Kirkcaldy for speaking to our 2 NPA Criminology classes and Miss McFarlane’s S2 CSI class this morning. She also managed to squeeze in an interview for a N5 pupil’s Assignment.

Miss McFarlane’s S2 CSI class were Ambassadors participating in a UN 🇺🇳debate on the use of the death penalty worldwide today. Some fantastic, passionate speeches were made. The Italian 🇮🇹motion was very narrowly defeated and therefore the death penalty will not be abolished 🌍

4E1 finished the course today and got issued with their National 5 Modern Studies Revision Survival Kits. 49 days till the exam and making each day count!

Today marked McFarlane’s inmates’ (AH Mods) liberation from C209 after an afternoon of revision pong. During their short sentence we’ve had lots of laughs, chat (from Alice & Amber) and learning! They have a bright future studying Politics/Law. C209 won’t be the same next year!😢

Miss McFarlane’s Criminology class had one hour to crack the code to find the evidence hidden in a safe to finally bring the ‘murderous scallywag’ to justice. Two teams managed to do so with 13 and 12 minutes to spare. A great last period! Good luck for your exams!

For the past few periods Miss McFarlane’s CSI: Balwearie class have been creating board games related to what they have studied in the course. Today they got the chance to play them and give peer feedback.

Higher Modern Studies pupils made political party cupcakes for an end of term treat this afternoon. All parties standing in the Cowdenbeath and Kirkcaldy constituency represented. Guest appearance by Mr O’Donnell to judge the winner!
