PhD students @tomverhe and Barbara D'hont are trying out the new TLS equipment (>> follow them for new cool lidar research in the next years!). This is also the first site for our new #BEAMS project, coincident with the light experiment from Forest & Nature Lab.

Two weeks ago, We scanned 2 ha in Yangambi, next to the #CongoFlux tower. Will be interesting to link the data that has been collected over the previous years with tree structure! With Félicien Meunier and #ISOFYS lab -> view 3D model tower: skfb.ly/oEWrq

In Yangambi, we were honoured to visit the arbre d’authenticité, a place of preservation of the history of the local tropical forest. With a DBH of 3 m and a crown diameter that spans 52 m, it's one of the most impressive trees I've ever laid eyes on. 👀skfb.ly/oEVFC
