This afternoon, Year 5 started a new dance topic with Kickstart focusing on refugees. It was really nice to revisit this idea after reading ‘The boy at the back of the class’ by onjali rauf in the Autumn.

Wonderland is an amazing place full of incredible characters. Year 5 and Year 6 are creating a map of Wonderland focusing on places that aren’t mentioned in the book. #WorldBookDay2024 #imagination

Nursery have been investigating sinking & floating as part of #ScienceWeek. This morning we the majority of the class predicted the foam pieces would float, but we’re surprised too see and feel them dissolve😮😃 #BMScience #UTW

Nursery continued their #ScienceWeek learning with an experiment linked to our topic ‘Once upon a time’. We wanted to see what changes would happen to the gingerbread man in different liquids 💧🎨🥛We watched him disintegrate😯- a new word we now know #BMScience Mrs Swanton

Science week Mrs Swanton Year 1 have had a great week predicting time. The children had to estimate what they could do in a minute from how many times they could write their name to how many star jumps ….⏱we set challenges for peers estimating and recording our results 👍✏️

During our maths lesson today about capacity, the children measured a variety of volumes within different sized containers. Children also filled the containers with the same volume and discussed why they looked different. Well done, Year 2. Mrs Woolley #BMMaths Mr Cornish 🏳️‍🌈

After tinkering with creating a stop motion video last week, this afternoon Year 5 planned a new video on a storyboard, then filmed it in front of a green screen before editing and changing the background in iMovie.

To celebrate #WorldArtDay, each class and our PTFA used a different media to represent themselves, taking inspiration from Artist, L. S. Lowry. Together we have created this collaborative art display which represents how much we value our school community. 🏫👬👫👭

This afternoon in science, Year 5 have been investigating water resistance by making different shapes, with with different surface areas, using modelling clay and timing how long it takes them to sink. Kapow Primary Mrs Swanton

After testing their spinners, Year 5 investigated how they could make their spinners drop faster before racing them. We had to record them in slow motion to find the winners! #GSSfs2024 Great Science Share for Schools

Year 3 had a wonderful afternoon today for Great Science Share. We thought about different variables of an experiment and what our big question could be. We then learnt about climate change and what sort of things we can do to help the planet. #greatscienceshare Mrs Swanton

Nursery became scientists today for #GreatScienceShare day. Predicting which spinner would stay in the air longest, comparing by size and taking them outside to compare against their friends. They also explored forces, finding magnetic objects around the environment🧲 #BMScience

Y2 took part in the #GreatScienceShare day, today. Using our super science skills to investigate materials used to make clothes. They used research, tally charts and grouping to identify types of fabric. They identified a new fabric made from bamboo called, viscose. #BMScience
