Inspiring lecture by Hans Clevers for the first #CharlesWeissmann award from Department of Molecular Life Sciences, University of Zurich. Also it was amazing to have Prof. Weissmann himself present at the ceremony, a true pioneer of molecular biology in Zurich!

One exciting aspect is discovering the link with EMT-MET dynamics and epithelialization in carcinomas. Ocaña and colleagues from Angela Nieto's lab first showed epithelialization is necessary for metastasis. 12 years later, the role of microenvironment in this process is clearer.

From embryo to adult and back again! In our latest preprint, we introduce oncoembryology—a parallel analysis of embryonic development and cancer. With my talented PhD student Tosca Dalessi, we explored the fascinating connections between these two processes. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

This was possible thanks to many, especially immense support of Konrad Basler, BaslerLab members, TomasValenta, Giulia Moro, Michael Brügger, collaborations with University of Zurich Tumorimmunology and Randall Platt, and critical input from George Hausmann, Mark R@markrobinsonca@{genomic.social,bsky.social}, and many others!

Check out the latest preprint from our lab. Great work lead by Hassan Fazilaty and done mainly by Tosca Dalessi. Many thanks to all coauthors. I was privileged to help with this nice work a little bit. Classics as Krebs and Virchow were right.

Very happy to share our newest preprint! By leveraging embryonic development, we found that SoxC transcription factors are crucial drivers of colorectal cancer. Thanks Hassan Fazilaty for initiating and supervising this fascinating project!

Huge thanks also to all other co-authors from BaslerLab University of Zurich Tumorimmunology Randall Platt lab and others & to Konrad Basler for supporting this work!

For a quick summary of our latest preprint, check out Tosca Dalessi's thread! She breaks down our key findings on #Oncoembryology and the role of SoxC transcription factors in cancer and development.

Exciting new preprint from our lab led by Hassan Fazilaty and the PhD work of Tosca Dalessi, introducing #Oncoembryology!

Looking for a quick overview of our latest work on #Oncoembryology? Check out Tosca Dalessi’s thread for a great summary of our discoveries on SoxC transcription factors and colorectal cancer.

Exciting new findings reveal eosinophils as key allies in the fight against colorectal cancer by blocking tumor spread. Great work by Kristina Handler, Deeksha Raju, Alessandra Gurtner & team lead by the amazing Isabelle Arnold Arnold_lab! Honored to be a part of this study. 👇
