May 1st 2022 saw the inaugral BRCC 2s fixture, at home vs MDAFS 4s. Batting first, a 50 from skipper Fraser guided the fledgling side to 159-6 from their 40 overs. With ball in hand, Andrew Weatherhead shone with 3-17, restricting DAFs to 98-8 and securing Bass Rock a 61 run win.

Round 2 results - nail biting victory on the road for the 1s at Murrayfield DAFS CC but heartbreak at home for the 2s against Marchmont Cricket 4s. Big thanks to this week’s match day sponsors Caledonian Horticulture, and club sponsors Gone to the Beach.

May 7th 2022 saw Peebles County visit Rec Park. A club record 170* from George Salmond and 103 from Aaron Weatherhead propelled the home side to a mammoth 392-5 from their 40 overs. Aaron followed up his century with 5-11, sealing himself a good day out and a 273 run Bass Rock win.

1s captain Nick Murden scored 63 not out on Saturday, taking him past 1,500 league runs for the club. Murdo’s 1,561 runs have come at an average of 55.75, including 14 half centuries. Batted skip 🔴⚫️

May 14th 2022 saw Bass Rock 2s host an East Lothian derby vs Tranent & Preston Village Cricket Club 3s. Batting first, Paul Dunn made his first BRCC half century, as the side made 172-8. Revell and Long bagged a brace each, but Dunny came to the fore again to claim 3-14 and seal a tense 31 run win.

We came out second best in tonight’s Parks Trophy first round clash, despite a strong effort across the team. Good luck to MortonCricketClub in the next round!

May 21st 2022 saw Bass Rock 1s host Stewart’s Melville Cricket Club 3s at Rec Park. Batting first, a trio of rapid half centuries from George Salmond, Dudley Milne and Sam Woodford led the side to a 249-8. Starlet Bruce Weatherhead sparkled with the ball, snaffling 3 wickets en route to an 81 run win.

Terry Newcombe Trophy Round 1 result 🔴⚫️ Defeat for the Rockers in round 1 this year, despite a smashing half century for Hemant Verma and an excellent bowling spell by Andrew Weatherhead. Good luck to Leith FAB Cricket in the next round.
