The very handsome Issue 19 of Bat City Review arrived and your boy feels proud proud proud
Happy to have this haibun out in Bat City Review about salsa 🇵🇷, movement, and my momma 🌿 grateful to the team and for the chance to share space with everyone else in the issue!
Thanks to Bat City Review for my contributor copies of their latest issue. Thrilled to have a short story in there!!
Never thought I'd write a poem grieving consent that was denied by another trans person. Hoping there's room for complex queer narratives during such violent measures against our autonomy. Big thanks to Bat City Review for the sunlight.
We love sharing the publishing news of our contributors so any Issue One peeps please feel free to DM us with anything you wish us to draw attention to. On that note congrats to our own Stephen Brophy for his brilliant short story ‘Grace’ in Bat City Review batcityreview.org/issue-19
Just received the new Bat City Review, which has my story about boyhood, fatherhood, memory, addiction, prison, and a Sunday spent in the Commodore Hotel in downtown Wichita. I'm endlessly grateful to @sophoulas and company for so expertly drawing out the essence of this piece.
Congratulations to Sarah Matthes, managing editor of Bat City Review and 2022 #HamiltonBookAwards nominee! Neither elegies nor odes, the poems in “Town Crier” express the pervasive nature of loss and how it suffuses all aspects of a life: memories, hopes, love, sex, lunch.
My suitcase almost exploded yesterday, stuffed as it was from my haul from #AWP24. Books from @deepvellum, @biblioasis_books, @redhenpress, @tin_house, @batcityreview Aline Kratz. My TBR stack is now officially out of control!
If you’ve ever wondered “What if Desmond from LOST was a trans lesbian?” you should definitely check out my new flash story in the 20th issue of Bat City Review !
