The specialist knowledge of Qualified Teachers of the Deaf is vital in supporting deaf children. With a 21% decline in Qualified Teachers of the Deaf since 2011, we believe the new government should urgently look to boost these numbers with a training fund. #GeneralElection

On International Women's Day we think it is fitting to pay tribute to Miss Mary Hare, founder of our wonderful school, suffragette, and founder of a women's police force in Brighton. Quite a remarkable woman!

A big step forward for British Sign Language (BSL) in Scotland! We’re delighted that the Scottish Parliament’s Education, Children & Young People Committee has approved amendments to include BSL in the Education (Scotland) Bill.

However, our work is not over. There’s still one final stage to go before the Bill is passed. We’ll keep pushing to make sure BSL stays in the Bill & becomes a real part of Scotland’s education system. Together, we’re building a more equal future for deaf children & young people.
