Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) inspectors have arrested Shawna Yohe, age 44, and Elizabeth Walker, age 27, both of Panama City, following an investigation into an introduction of contraband inside the Bay County Jail.

BCSO Capt. S. Jencks is now a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session 293. The Academy offers 10 weeks of adv communication, leadership, and fitness training. To attend participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies. Congrats, Capt. Jencks!

The BCSO has arrested a Panama City Beach woman wanted in Leon County, Fl for Human Trafficking of a Minor. Erica McKelvey, age 39, was taken to the Bay County Jail where she was held without bond awaiting extradition back to Leon County.

March 17, 2025 An investigation by the BCSO led to the arrest of 3 on drug charges. On 3/15, SID investigators conducted a traffic stop in Youngstown. In the vehicle was Charles Robinson, age 43, Courtney Bates, age 29, and Dale Coleman, age 45, as well as meth and fentanyl.

March 17, 2025 Inv. from the BCSO looked into drug activity at a home in Southport. On 3/14, a search warrant found Meth at a home on Palmdale. David Conrad and Christian Stepp, of Ga, were arrested for Trafficking Meth > 200 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Bay Co engineers opened a run-off from the Bay into the Gulf today at Camp Helen. This creates a strong current and has been known to push anyone in the current miles from shore, requiring rescue from the Coast Guard. Stay safe and avoid this run-off and the resulting current.

May 13, 2025 Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford announced today the arrest of Holden Branch, age 31, of Panama City Beach in connection to a stabbing and attempted armed robbery on 5/10/25. Holden was taken into custody on 5/12/25.

The BCSO responded to a crash in Callaway at 9:45 PM on 5/13/25. Markus Ray Powell was traveling west on Boat Race Rd on a 2016 Harley Davidson and collided with a Ford F150 truck. Powell died because of injuries sustained in the crash. The accident is under investigation.
