This is a brilliant preprint. It describes an experimental method for separately sequencing the paternal and maternal genomes. This goes beyond the standard "experimental phasing" - the method can also tell which chr is maternal and which is paternal. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Postdocs are paid in money, experience, and hope. I don't think it's mainly the money making people leave now. Pandemic made the experience worse (no campus environment, no happy hours, much harder travel). TT job scarcity made the hope less valuable. nature.com/articles/d4158…
