The USMMA Official is on the front line of countering Chinese maritime dominance. The status quo decline in American shipbuilding is unacceptable. We will prioritize our maritime industry and the brave men and women who run our ships to make shipbuilding great again.

The condition of the USMMA Official isn’t in line with its status as one of our premier federal service academies. We’re going to give the campus at Kings Point the attention they need to turn it around.

The Merchant Marine Academy trains some of the most remarkable young people I have met in my life. We must give them the respect they deserve. That starts with revitalizing their campus’ infrastructure.

Today, we remember the brave men and women who gave everything for this country and never came home. It was an honor to march in the Great Neck & Little Neck Memorial Day parades today to commemorate their sacrifice. Lift up their families and never take freedom for granted.

Happy 250th Birthday to the U.S. Merchant Marine! Whether transporting goods or refueling naval ships, Merchant Mariners are vital for a thriving U.S. economy. We rely on their skills as mariners to carry out their duties, even if we, the American people, don't fully realize it.

🚢🇺🇸 250 years ago today, the U.S. Merchant Marine took its first stand for American freedom. Since then, civilian mariners have delivered for America--fueling our economy, defending our interests, and standing ready when called. Today, we honor their courage and service.

On the 250th birthday of the U.S. Merchant Marine we salute those who operate our U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command Command ships, DOT Maritime Administration National Defense Reserve Force ships, and our U.S.-flagged oceangoing commercial ships, and countless other smaller vessels operating daily on our rivers,
