The Beaumont School librarians are already planning their summer reading and compiling a shopping list for the new school year in September. Luckily for us, the marvellous Herts Libraries always stock the very latest fiction titles to borrow and explore.

⚽️ Semi final symmetry: thanks to the beauty of tournament football, both the #EURO2024 midweek matches will see a Beaumont School Year 7 class taking on a Year 8 class. Who will make the final?!! ⚽️

We WILL handle with care. Thank you to Guppy Books for sending us a proof copy of Louisa Reid's new YA book. We're huge fans of Louisa's work so are beyond thrilled to receive this. Can't wait to start reading.

We're very proud to be a 'testing school' for the FCBG Children's Book Award. The CBA is the only national award where children are in sole charge of the selection process, shortlist and winners. Here are some of the titles our readers are considering for the 2025 award.

⚽️ 27 days, 50 games and 114 goals have led to this: an all-Beaumont Year 7 #EURO2024    final! After the excitement of the semis, 7L 🇪🇸 will take on 7B 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 on Sunday night. Is football coming home or a casa?! ⚽️

⚽️📚 Last night's final also marks the end of our #EURO2024 reading challenge. Beaumont School Year 7s and Year 8s have until the end of TODAY to hand in their entry slips for the prize draw. Two winners will be drawn tomorrow! ⚽️📚

⚽️📚 Top stats: 122 students took part in our #EURO2024    reading challenge and prize draw, reading a total of 211 books. The two winning entries belonged to Alba and Daragh in Year 7. Congratulations to EVERYONE who took part. Reading is DEFINITELY the winner here! ⚽️📚

Scouting for September # 4: 'Wild East' by Ashley Hickson-Lovence. Another of the brilliant books we've read since the end of term that we'll be adding to our shelves after the summer holidays. We're excited to share this YA verse novel with Beaumont School students.

Scouting for September # 5: ''The Grimmelings' by Rachael King. This bewitching tale has brought magic to our summer break. Thank you to Guppy Books for giving us this proof back in April. We'll definitely be ordering a finished copy on our return to school after the hols. 😊📚

Scouting for September # 6: 'I Am Rebel' by Ross Montgomery. Another of the fab books we've read in the hols and will be adding to our shelves! Beaumont School readers are in for a treat as Rebel, the canine hero of this exciting and pacy adventure, tells a terrific tale! 😊📚🐾
