#ThisWeekInNPP New findings from Carly Fabian Max Joffe Marianne Seney Becca Cole @WinterThompson find that parvalbumin-expressing interneurons in the PFC are more excitable in ♀️ 🐭than ♂️🐭 with sex-specific regulation by mGlu1 & mGlu5 receptors nature.com/articles/s4138…

Honored to have received the official Notice of Award for my F31 NRSA application the other day! 🎉 Huge thanks to NIAAA News for supporting my work and all those who helped me through this process Max Joffe Mary Torregrossa 😊

Excited to share our first foray into opioid research! Becca Cole set out to build a comprehensive picture of opioid receptor function within PFC interneurons. Becca characterized several pronounced and contrasting effects across the major GABAergic cell types and circuits...

Presynaptic and somato-dendritic DOR functions are greatest in SST cells, while MOR's effects and putative subcellular location vary extensively across cell types. Lots of neat data in this one, including a new tool made by ⚡️GREG_CORDER⚡️ and @gsalimando to target MOR+ cells

Honored to have been selected as a finalist for the Stephen L. Phillips “Best Peer-Reviewed Publication” Award 🎉 Big thanks again to Max Joffe and Marianne Seney 😊and for Sean P Farris for coming to support! CNUP

Happy to share the latest preprint from the lab. Work examining the role of somatostatin neuropeptide transmission in the PFC in regulating associative learning underlying discrimination between salient and neutral outcomes. Led by Miguel Arenivar 🇺🇸🇲🇽🐭🧸🧪 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
