UPDATE (4:02 p.m.): The leak has been stopped. Fire personnel are working to double check gas levels in the area, and the police will reopen both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane.

UPDATE (4:25 p.m.): The Fire Department has cleared the scene. Atmos is still working to permanently fix the line, and a police officer will remain on-scene until that is complete. Both westbound lanes are open, and one eastbound lane is open.

GAS LINE UPDATE (August 30, 10:55 a.m.): Atmos informed the City the permanent repairs to the gas line won't be able to be completed until next week. Until then, the inside eastbound lane will remain closed until it can be permanently repaired.

Throughout the weekend, you may see crews & apparatus at Bedford City Hall, Building B (2000 Forest Ridge Dr.). We will be conducting training in the building on Saturday & Sunday. There is NO emergency – just some practice for our crews to continue keeping our community safe!
