Last night I had the honour of welcoming members of the Consular Corps & the broader community to the Parliament of NSW to celebrate Europe Day 2025. 🇪🇺🇦🇺 A fantastic event hosted by the Consul-General of Poland Mr Piotr Rakowski with guest speaker, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki 👏

🌾 Country Mayors hit the City! 🏛️ What a fantastic evening hosting the Country Mayors Association of NSW in the Parliament’s Jubilee Room last night! We deeply appreciate the responsibility each Mayor carries on behalf of their communities 👏

The Archibald prize is the greatest portrait prize in Australia. The 2005 winner - Julie Fragar’s portrait of Justene Williams - is multi-layered, modern and complex. Quite brilliant. Congrats to new Director Maud Page and Chair Michael Rose for their first Archibald hang.

Spaghetti Circus’ new shed is OFFICIALLY OPEN! 🎪🤹   Fantastic to visit the incredible community at Spaghetti Circus last Saturday to help officially launch their new shed, equipment and fit out following the floods in 2022.

Today, the Speaker & I welcomed the High Commissioner for Canada to Australia, Her Excellency Dr Julie Sunday, to the NSW Parliament. 🇨🇦🇦🇺   I look forward to working with the High Commissioner to continue to build on our strong relationship with Canada for the benefit of NSW. 🤝

Some of the best & brightest school leaders from across the Cootamundra electorate joined Steph Cooke MP & me for a delightful afternoon tea ☕️   As part of Parliament’s Secondary Student Leaders Program, where schools statewide get their own taste of how our democracy works 🏛️

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Museum of Sydney. On Wednesday I was thrilled to attend the opening of a new exhibition called ‘Seeing Sydney, Knowing Country’ in honour of the special milestone. 👣

Great to attend a morning tea at Admiralty House for International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia, and Transphobia. Thank you to Equality Australia for the invitation and the work you do in ensuring all people are treated equally and with dignity and respect.

Recently the Speaker and I were pleased to welcome to the Parliament the Spanish Ambassador to Australia, Her Excellency Ms Esther Monterrubio Villar and Ms Rebeca Chantal Guinea Stal, Consul-General of Spain. 🇪🇸🇦🇺

Carriageworks was buzzing today thanks to this year’s amazing Sydney Writers’ Festival! The program is the best in years - Brooke and the team have done a sensational job. It’s on till next Tuesday and there are some amazing sessions still to come. Get along if you can!

Tamworth Public Speaking Competition 🎤✨ So last week it was an absolute thrill to have 14 young people from across the New England region compete in Tamworth for what is the halfway point of this year’s competition! Our next round is in Griffith in a couple of weeks time! 🗣️

I recently welcomed the newly appointed Consul-General of New Zealand, Mr James Munro, to the NSW Parliament. 🇳🇿🇦🇺   I look forward to working closely with Consul-General Munro to further strengthen this important relationship. 🤝

Tamworth Youth Forum ⭐️ What a privilege it was last week to be in a room with over 40 incredibly inspiring students from across the New England region who came to the NSW Parliament’s youth forum for Tamworth 🎸

Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of hosting the Shiokaze Winds – a quartet from the U.S. 7th Fleet Band - in the Parliament of NSW’s Fountain Court 🇺🇸🎺⚓️ A sincere thanks to our consular corps colleagues and everyone who joined us. 🤝

On Monday, I had the pleasure of speaking with the bright Year 6 students from St Madeleine’s Primary School in Kenthurst! 📚 They’re heading to Canberra next month to visit the Parliament of Australia and see democracy in action. 🇦🇺🏛️

Last week I had the privilege of attending the 2025 NSW Literary Awards 🏆 From impactful poetry to compelling fiction & thought-provoking non-fiction, the shortlisted works reminded us of the vital role literature plays in sparking ideas & connecting us across generations 🗣️📚

Today I had the privilege of attending the Festa della Repubblica celebration hosted by the Consul-General of Italy in Sydney, Mr Gianluca Rubagotti. 🇮🇹    I’d like to take this opportunity to wish our vibrant Italian community a very happy national day! 👏

Had a great time joining Brendan Moylan MP & Cr Juliana McArthur for the Legal Studies in the Legislature (On the Road!) program with NSW Parliament & UNE. We spoke with Stage 6 students about leadership, law-making & the role of MPs in shaping legislation. ⚖️🤝
