This win was only made possible by the leadership of the ADL shop stewards throughout difficult talks, the strength of support from members, and the unity of Unite Scotland and GMB Scotland All jobs saved. Furlough delivered. Green bus manufacturing has a future in Scotland.

This is welcome from the Scottish Government and follows tireless efforts from unions to secure a rescue package. Scotland can be a manufacturing powerhouse. Today demonstrates that, when workers lead the way, with supportive intervention, we can retain jobs. skills and services

This is clearly a welcome step to keep manufacturing jobs in Falkirk and it contracts markedly with government inaction at Grangemouth refinery. It needs to be followed up by a procurement strategy for ensuring more of the buses on Scotland’s road are made at Alexander Dennis.

Furlough has now prevented site closure, defended jobs & kept EV bus production in Scotland. There can be no excuses. We cannot accept any more job losses. We need to see targeted furlough for the autos supply chain & other sites needing emergency support.
